Westin Austin Downtown Hotel Review
As part of my Texas road trip this month, I was very much looking forward to visiting Austin for a long weekend. I decided to stay in the Westin Austin Downtown Hotel due to its central location in the city of Austin. It wasn’t far at all from the many things I wanted to do in the capital city of Texas!
I arrived at the Westin on a Thursday evening and checked right into the gorgeous room. The desk agent was kind enough to give me an upgrade after seeing their lower-than-normal occupancy for that winter weekend.
The Westin Austin Downtown is a very luxurious hotel that you won’t regret choosing. We booked a basic room with two Queen beds and the room felt very spacious. From the 11th floor, we had a spectacular view of downtown Austin!

The Bathroom
The bathroom was quite spacious and everything was included behind the door (I prefer this kind of private bathroom). Some hotels only hide the toilet and shower, but not here, thankfully!
Our bathroom amenities included mouthwash, a nail file, 2 Q-Tips, 2 Cotton Balls, and a bottle of moisturizing lotion. In the shower, we had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The shower had two heads: one was an overhead rain shower head and the other was a small handheld shower head.
The closet was located opposite the bathroom and offered a safe for guests to keep their valuables. A robe was also provided for use.
Desk
Plenty of outlets and ample desktop space to work at the in-room desk.
The Westin Lobby
Walking into the Westin was always a pleasure and its lobby has been tastefully decorated in a dark brown style. There were plenty of plush couches to sit on and the space never felt crowded.
The Westin Pool and Rooftop
There is a small pool available for swimming on the roof of the Westin Hotel. The roof is gorgeous and offers a fantastic view of the architecturally interesting Frost Bank Tower in Austin. I was lucky enough to catch a stellar sunset from the Westin on our first night at the hotel!
Benefits to Staying at The Westin Austin Downtown
I was happy to see that the Westin offers a few unique benefits to its guests. For one, you can actually rent workout clothes to use in the hotel in case you forget yours! You simply borrow them and then give them back to the hotel where they are washed and prepared for the next person.
Secondly, you can opt to not have your room cleaned and receive a $5 food and beverage credit for doing so. This is part of a green initiative by the hotel to conserve water and reward guests for considering the environment.
Starbucks Coffee is offered for free in every room, too, a benefit for coffee lovers!
