Those in search of third-wave coffee in Madrid won’t be disappointed. While Spain’s capital doesn’t have an overwhelming amount of specialty cafés the way cities like New York do, there’s certainly enough to fill your week up! Take a look at the seven best cafés in Madrid that I love visiting when I’m in town…
Toma
Toma specializes in coffee, so you can be assured it’s fantastic. A lot of locals visit this spot, and I always hear Spanish when I walk inside.
Calle de la Palma, 49, 28004 Madrid
Federal Cafe
Federal is more of a restaurant than a coffee shop, but their coffee is just as excellent as a specialty shop. I come here for a delicious breakfast and quality coffee.
Plaza de las Comendadoras, 9, 28015 Madrid
Han So Café
Han So is another specialty coffee shop in the heart of Malasana. While more tourists tend to frequent this cafe, it doesn’t change how yummy the coffee is. Keep in mind, they don’t allow laptop usage on the weekend, so if you’re looking for wifi, come during the week!
Calle del Pez, 20, 28004 Madrid
La Bicicleta Café
I love getting a typical Spanish breakfast here (tomato bread + egg slice) alongside my specialty coffee.
Plaza de San Ildefonso, 9, 28004 Madrid
The Little Big Cafe
In the northern part of central Madrid is Little Big Café, a cute café with a ton of charm, and a bit off the beaten path of Madrid… This is a local’s spot for sure!
Calle de Fernández de los Ríos, 61, 28015 Madrid
1000 Cups Madrid
The quirky, mismatched decor inside this coffee shop makes it a casual, relaxing spot to take in some strong caffeine in Madrid.
Glorieta de Quevedo, 5, 28015 Madrid
Coffee and Kicks
Located in the middle of Madrid, this place is great to kick off your day before exploring Sol… Pun not intended :)
Calle de las Navas de Tolosa, 6, 28013 Madrid
Are there any other cool coffee shops in Madrid I missed?
