With its stunning Art Nouveau glass dome and ornate belle époque architecture, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann is more than just a department store – it’s a Parisian landmark. As one of the city’s most iconic shopping destinations, Galeries Lafayette stores draw visitors from around the world who browse its expansive offerings in fashion, cosmetics, home goods, gourmet food, and more.
I’ve been to the main Hausmann store dozens of times and I’ll take you on a floor-by-floor tour through this magnificent department store so you can get a feel for what each level has to offer. We’ll start on the main level, and go underground to the wellness center before moving up through each level, under the stained glass dome. I’ll take you through all the floors of luxury shopping and behind-the-scenes services.
By the end, you’ll understand why Galeries Lafayette Haussmann is about so much more than shopping – it’s an essential part of the fabric of Paris and its reputation as a capital of style, design, and joie de vivre.
Women’s “Coupole” Store
The primary GL store is often referred to as the “Coupole” store as it’s where the famous glass dome is located. This store is where women’s fashion is sold. If you’re a man, you’ll be better off heading into the “L’Homme” store next door, but that’s an article for another day! Let’s go inside the women’s store.
