Every time I go to Soho, I have to visit the block where I used to live, near Crosby and Howard because for me, it’s one the most beautiful places in the world. On Sunday, I decided to walk straight down Crosby Street and shoot along the way.

I shoot with a Nikon D5300. What I love about my camera is that it can capture shots like this with a seemingly infinite depth of field. It also reminds me of my art history classes at Parsons where we learned how painters can show distance by desaturating the farthest objects in the scene…

There’s a nondescript shop window with sculptures in it that I always peek through at the very end of Crosby Street. The store itself is always closed when I’m there, so I end up snapping some cool photos through the grid of the glass panes. The other day I finally decided to look it up on Google Maps and turns out it’s called “De Vera.”

  1. Hi, this set is truly amazing! I remember when I was a student in the city I used to work as waiter at La Bella Ferrara on Mulberry Street not far away. I remember that I used to walk Crosby and Howard Street every single day cause I liked the vibe and the look of it so much. Thank you for letting me remember those days through your camera. Marco
