Café des Musées: a charming red café in Le Marais, Paris

Café des Musées is a classic Parisian bistro located in the historic Le Marais district. Established in the late 19th century, the café embodies the traditional Parisian dining experience, combining rustic décor with a menu influenced by French culinary staples. Its name translates to “Museums café.”

The Café des Musées is located in proximity to many of the best Paris art museums, including the Picasso Museum and the Carnavalet Museum, which likely contributed to the “museums” part of its name.

When I lived in the Marais, I loved walking by this bright red café. It always looked so charming with its classic French blue bistro chairs and small round tables placed perfectly on the sidewalk. It’s definitely one of my favorite cafés in Paris!
