Across the Seine River is Place du Trocadéro, the open plaza where everyone goes to get the best view of the Eiffel Tower. The plaza is named after the Battle of Trocadero of 1823, which is probably why you can see the cannons on this plaza. Place du Trocadéro is a great place to start when looking for places to take photos of the Eiffel Tower. The area, as well as many points in the 16th arrondissement offer great vantage points to see the iconic French tower!
