Pain Pain Paris is a quaint and charming café located in the heart of Paris, specifically in the trendy Montmartre district. This district is known for its vibrant atmosphere, historical architecture, and a mix of boutiques, art galleries, and cafés.

Founders Sandra and Sébastien’s paths nearly crossed at the CFA in Versailles, where both were completing apprenticeships in the same year — yet destiny had other plans. They never met there, only later introduced by a mutual friend. One date was enough; sparks flew instantly. It felt like fate — not only in love but in ambition. They both dreamed of opening a bakery.

Leaving their jobs behind, they took a leap just 20 kilometers from Paris, spurred on by their mentors, Mr. and Mrs. Delaporte of La Chocolatine in Orsay, who recognized their talent and drive. At just 26 and 24, Sébastien and Sandra opened their first bakery in Meudon on February 23, 2001 — merely 13 days after their wedding.

That date would mark more than one new beginning; it also came on the cusp of a major shift in France: the introduction of the euro.

The rest is history and the duo’s love for pastry-making continues on decades later!

Pain Pain is particularly praised for its pastries and artisanal bread. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast or afternoon snack while indulging in some of the café’s sweet and savory offerings.
